Grab your finest glass of wine, lords and ladies, and prepare yourself for Downton Abbey season 4, episode 4 which airs tonight on PBS.
We’ve rounded up a synopsis, video preview, and photos from this evening’s Downton Abbey season 4 episode so you know what’s ahead.
The synopsis reads, “Change is in the air as an exciting opportunity for Alfred creates tension between Ivy and Daisy. Isobel appeals to Violet’s sense of charity, but it doesn’t come without a fight, and Branson considers a whole new future for himself and baby Sybbie.”
Branson will have a conversation with Mary about what is hinted at above, and the two’s children will be spending some quality time with one another. It’s a significant scene for a couple of reasons, but one is that we finally see Mary playing with her and Matthew’s son George. Earlier this season she was struggling with how to raise her child without her husband, but as we’ve seen over the past couple of episodes, she’s beginning to come around.
A clip from episode 4 depicts Mrs. Hughes asking Anna to open up to Bates, but someone is listening in on their private conversation:
