Doctor Who‘s Doctor may very well pop up in Lego Movie 2!
If the creative team behind Lego Movie get their way, the Doctor will team up with Emmet (Chris Pratt) in the highly anticipated sequel.
Appearing on Dan Harmon’s Harmontown podcast, director Rob Schrab revealed that they are in negotiations with the BBC to be allowed to add Doctor Who‘s titular Timelord to their character line-up.

If the deal works out, the Doctor would be rubbing elbows with other big-name franchise characters including Batman, Gandalf, Han Solo, Wonder Woman, and the Ninja Turtles.
The Doctor already exists in LEGO form: Not only does he have his own LEGO set, but the Doctor Who franchise also exists in the recently released (and unfortunately not-so-well-received) Lego Dimensions video game. The characters are even voiced by current cast members Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman (Clara), and Michelle Gomez (Missy).
Since a deal with the BBC has already been struck once, let’s hope they can do it again for The Lego Movie Sequel!
We don’t yet know if the Doctor (and, presumably, a LEGO-fied version of his TARDIS) would merely make a cameo appearance, or if he’d have a more substantial role. We’ll have to assume he’d appear in his current Peter Capaldi-shaped form, and not as one of his past incarnations.
The Lego Movie Sequel is set to hit cinemas in 2018. Chris Pratt is expected to return as Emmet in the brand new brick adventure.
