The Divergent story’s Faction symbols are getting a slight redesign for the movie adaptation due out in theaters March 21. Today, the Dauntless symbol was unveiled.
The visual appearance of the Divergent movie’s Dauntless symbol is pretty flat, only employing the use of black and white.
The following tagline was used with the symbol: “We believe in freedom from fear, in ordinary acts of bravery, in defending those who cannot defend themselves.”
The remaining four Faction symbols will be unveiled on Divergent’s official Instagram on Thursday, May 23. We’ll bring you the remainder of the faction symbols as soon as they’re released.
We were hoping that these faction symbols would’ve included a bit more detail given we’ve already seen all five symbols with the books. Maybe they will get another redesign once we get closer to the 2014 theatrical release. In the mean time, start wondering about the different types of merchandise you’ll be able to pick up with these symbols on them!
Below is the original version of the Dauntless symbol used to promote the books by Veronica Roth:
May has been a big month for fans of the book and eventual movie. Last week we saw a great photo of Tris (Shailene Woodley) taking her Dauntless jump to prove her loyalty and ability. Earlier this month, the cover to Divergent book 3 Allegiant was unveiled. It featured a wave with a blue and orange theme. The book will hit store shelves October 22, 2013.
Thanks to EW for the symbol.
