The second clip from Divergent has been released and depicts Tris breaking free of her simulation.
Shailene Woodley stars in this Divergent clip while she’s in a tank of water and comes to realize that the simulation is not real.
We’ve seen a clip or two from this scene in trailers, but it’s the first time we’re getting a larger look at Tris’ moment in the tank.
We’re quite impressed by Woodley’s portrayal of Tris’ thought process and how she overcomes this test, which proves her Divergent abilities, thus setting off concern from Jeanine.
The first clip from Divergent debuted way back in December and depicts a chat between Tris and Four. In the scene, the latter shows Tris his tattoos and explains that he doesn’t want to be defined by one faction.
Divergent opens in theaters March 21 and stars Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslet. It is directed by Neil Burger. The film has started screening for the cast and select members of the media.
One person who saw it early was the author herself, Veronica Roth. This morning on her blog she wrote about seeing her book get carried to the big screen. “I was nervous to see it, as I think any author whose book is being adapted for the screen would be, but I remember remarking when I first went to set that everyone involved with the movie seemed so thoughtful about the story they were helping to build, and I feel like the final product reflects that,” she said.
What do you think of the newest ‘Divergent’ clip?
