Summit has announced who will take the roles of Will, Edward, and Al in the Divergent movie.
Ben Lloyd-Hughes will play Will
Ben Lamb will play Edward
Christian Madsen will play Al
Lloyd-Hughes’ recent credits include Great Expectations and The Scapegoat, according to an announcement from the studio. Lamb currently plays Anthony Rivers in The White Queen, which will premiere on BBC One and Starz later this year. Madsen just wrapped Gia Coppola’s film Palo Alto.
Casting has been moving quick as of late because filming is to begin in Chicago next month. A few of the stars have started arriving in the city to prepare. Earlier today, actor Ansel Elgort (who will play Tris’ brother Caleb) tweeted that Miles Teller “is such a dick” in his role as Peter. This suggests that rehearsals have begun!
Earlier this month we learned Theo James will play Four, Kate Winslet will play Jeanine, Jai Courtney will play Eric, Maggie Q will play Tori, Zoe Kravitz will play Christina, and Ansel Elgort will play Caleb. Shailene Woodley will take the lead role of Tris.
The Divergent trilogy was written by Veronica Roth, and book 3 is due out this October. The film will be directed by Neil Berger, and the script was penned by Evan Daughtery and Vanessa Taylor. Divergent opens in theaters March 21, 2014.
