We’ve reported lightly on Frozen, Disney’s next animated film, over the past few months. Most recently, we learned that Jonathan Groff had been cast to voice (and sing) a lead role.
Update: Disney has informed us that these posters are, in fact, fan-made. As not to misrepresent the film to our readers, we have removed the posters.
In Frozen, when a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna (voice of Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (Groff) and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa (Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.
The film is directed by Chris Buck (Tarzan, Surf’s Up) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, Wreck-It Ralph), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog). It features music from Tony-winner Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q).
With this vocal and writing talent, Frozen is looking very promising. So far, the animation is nothing to write home about compared to the other work Disney has designed, but we’ll wait for a trailer to see if they’ve made any striking technological advancements.
Frozen opens November 27, 2013.
