Off the heels of their new album announcement yesterday, it is confirmed that Destiny’s Child will indeed be performing with Beyonce when she headlines this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
The news was confirmed today by US Weekly who says Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, solo artists in their own right, will be joining Beyonce on stage February 3rd.
US Weekly is even giving details on how exactly the trio will reunite:
Insiders tell Us the “Crazy in Love” singer will open the much-anticipated show solo; midway through her performance, Williams and Rowland will appear onstage and launch into a short medley of the group’s hits, culminating in a brand-new song, “Nuclear,” their first original material in more than eight years.
After, Beyonce will take center stage again for the big finale, which is said to include the debut of a track from her upcoming fifth album.
This idea is pretty general as it’s probably too early to tell exactly how the show will go down. However, with Beyonce taking one of the biggest stages in the world, it’s pretty much a given that we will hear new music from her.
Beyonce last released an album, 4, in 2011 before taking a break and giving birth to Blue Ivy Carter. Destiny’s Child’s last album came in 2004.
