You may’ve seen the “leaked” video depicting Dennis Quaid supposedly freaking out on the set of a movie. As it turns out, it was a set up for a great Funny or Die sketch.
The “leaked” video, which has garnered a whopping 1.7 million views in the five days it’s been on YouTube, depicted Quaid seemingly losing his mind on the set of an unknown film as someone secretly filmed his Christian Bale-like tirade. Watch below:
“Is it real?” the internet wondered earlier this week, “or is it a Jimmy Kimmel bit?” It turns out neither of those guesses were entirely correct.
Today Funny or Die released a sketch which confirms the freak out was a gag. All of Quaid’s insults were actually literal observations — he was actually dealing with pussies, babies, and dicks on set, but it was impossible to tell from the original viral video. As for the “blow me!” comment at the end? He was asking his stylist to fix his hair. Watch below and have a laugh:
This was a great prank — but Funny or Die and Kimmel will have to start coming up with new ways to fool the internet, because we’re all starting to catch on.
