If you’re hoping for more R-rated superhero movies like Deadpool, you might be in luck with X-Force.
The world is ready for edgy, violent, swearword-saturated superhero content.
After the massive success of Marvel’s dark Netflix series Daredevil and Jessica Jones, Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller proved that this format can also work on the big screen.
Deadpool, so beloved by comic book fans for its outrageous humor, self-referentiality and R-rated sequences, was adapted almost perfectly, and as its record-breaking box office results prove, people are loving it.

If this was an experiment, consider it a successful one — we’re not only practically guaranteed a Deadpool sequel, but Simon Kinberg now tells Collider that the upcoming X-Force movie could be rated R as well.
“I think there are some stories that could be R-rated. I don’t know what they are, I mean I think the mainline X-Men movies have their own tone, which is a more operatic tone,” says Kinberg. “It’s more dramatic, it is more PG-13 in a way. X-Force I could see being R-rated, and who knows?”
It would make sense that X-Force follows the Deadpool tone, seeing as both Deadpool and confirmed-sequel character Cable are on that squad, best described as a darker version of the X-Men.
Other X-Force characters include Colossus, Cyclops, Archangel, and (most notably to moviegoing audiences) Wolverine. If you’ve seen Deadpool you know that they take many stabs at both Wolverine and his real-life counterpart Hugh Jackman, and while we doubt he’d appear in the movie, you never know.
We’re betting Fox and Marvel are willing to pour a lot more money into this now, at any rate, seeing as how big of a hit Deadpool is proving to be.
