The Deadpool sequel will hopefully film in the beginning of 2017, which hopefully means a late-2017 or early-2018 release date.
Deadpool blew the world away on Valentine’s Day earlier this year, when Ryan Reynolds proved that yes, he’s got this.
The R-rated, self-referential superhero flick with a shoestring budget was fueled solely by nerd fire, and it paid off: The film broke records, and will go down in history as one of the best superhero movies of all time.
And yes, of course, there’s gonna be a sequel.
Deadpool 2, which will see Wade Wilson (re?)unite with his comic book BFF/arch nemesis Cable, is still a long way off, though.

Deadpool producer Simon Kinberg spoke to Collider on the Saturn Awards red carpet, and confirmed that the current plan is to begin shooting in early 2017.
That doesn’t rule out a 2017 release date (Star Wars: Rogue One filmed in January 2016 and will come out this December), but for symmetry it’s more likely that they’ll aim for a February 2018 release, putting exactly two years between Deadpool and its sequel.
And why rock the boat — the off-key scheduling worked out for them last time, and the last thing they want is for the Deadpool franchise to seem too mainstream (although we have no doubt it could compete with pretty much anything).
No real news yet about the plot, or even which actors will return aside from Ryan Reynolds himself.
Tim Miller will return to direct Deadpool 2, once again from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
