If you live under a rock, you may not have heard that Glee reached its 500th musical number in last night’s episode “Girls (and Boys) on Film.” The crew treated their cast to a surprise for this milestone, and Darren Criss managed to capture and post a few snippets of the celebration on Youtube.
Glee’s 500th musical performance was “Shout” by the Isley Brothers, a performance lead by Blaine (Darren Criss) and Brittany (Heather Morris) but involving the entire glee club and a horde of extras as the group danced their way through the school.
Below, you can watch the cellphone videos Darren Criss took on the day of filming “Shout.”
This first one shows Darren Criss, Chord Overstreet, Vanessa Lengies, Jenna Ushkowitz and some other cast members waiting to go onto set, suspecting a surprise or prank!
The second video captures the tail end of whatever the crew’s surprise was – unfortunately we don’t get to see what actually went down, but a lot of people are wearing matching Glee shirts!
In the third video, executive producer Dante Di Loreto congratulates the Glee cast and crew on their hard work.
Recently, we posted a bit of a fun “Glee By The Numbers” graphic in our own celebration of this milestone, where we outline some numerical facts from the show.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 500 songs and almost four years since Glee came into our lives – what have been some of your favorites of the 500?
We want to hear your thoughts on this topic!
