Justin Bieber’s favorite new artist, Carly Rae Jepsen, has a certified platinum hit in the U.S. with “Call Me Maybe,” after selling 1.2 million singles.

One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” The Wanted’s “Glad You Came,” Fun.’s “We Are Young” and Gotye “Somebody That I Used To Know” went platinum in the U.S. for the first time in the past month, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” has become a hit since Justin Bieber tweeted about it and posted a video parody of the song on YouTube.
