Fans of the Mega Man series will rejoice to know that the little blue man that could is finally going to see a completely new iteration. Also, the classic NES game DuckTales will be completely re-hauled.
Capcom revealed at today’s PAX East conference that they are working on a new Mega Man game. This news will excite fans, seeing as the last Mega Man game in development for the 3DS was cancelled before its release.
Not much information was revealed about the who, what, when, where, or why of the new Mega Man game, with Capcom stating that they are “not ready” for a full game reveal right now.
It was also revealed that DuckTales will see not only a digital release, but also a complete graphical overhaul.
The original DuckTales game came out in 1989 for the NES, and follows Scrooge McDuck as he travels the globe to become the world’s richest duck. The game was based off of the story of the Disney show of the same name.
As was confirmed by the trailer below, the remaster of the game will have completely re-drawn sprites and 3D backgrounds. As far as we can tell, it seems as though the game will still play in the same platforming nature.
The trailer starts off with dramatic quotes hyping up the viewer for the epic material they are about to witness. About halfway through the video, a sing-a-long begins of the theme song for the DuckTales series. Action scenes play out, with Scrooge McDuck besting enemies by jumping on their heads, Mario style.
The DuckTales remaster will release this summer for Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and the WiiU eShop for $14.99.
