Though it’s not yet official, Jurassic World may have found one of its leads: Bryce Dallas Howard.
The new casting rumor comes from The Wrap. Their source close to the Jurassic reboot/sequel says that she has been given an official offer.
Dallas Howard had been long rumored for a lead role, but this is the first time we’re hearing of talks.
She is no stranger to big movies, but this could very well be the largest role for the actress. Previously she had roles in Spider-Man 3, The Help, 50/50, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
If Howard does indeed join Jurassic World, it will be her first time working with director Colin Trevorrow. Trevorrow is most known for his fantastic indie comedy released last year, Safety Not Guaranteed. With the release of that film, he proved he was capable of directing scenes that will help him in directing Jurassic World. We won’t spoil here exactly what those scenes are, as we recommend you check out the movie.
It was announced earlier this month that the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise would be named Jurassic World. The film was also given a June 12, 2015 release date.
Related: 2015 may be the biggest year for movies ever.
Jurassic World had been scheduled for an opening in 2014, but after production delays, Universal decided to postpone its release.
In May we also saw that the director had visited the original island used for Isla Nublar, suggesting the storyline may return to that classic location seen in the original Jurassic Park.
