Although Marvel likely already has actresses in mind, no casting announcement has yet been made for Captain Marvel. So how about Jurassic World‘s Bryce Dallas Howard?
Jurassic World comes out this Friday, and is on track to be a smash hit success at the box office.
That means its star Bryce Dallas Howard — who still gets mistaken for Jessica Chastain on a regular basis — is rising quickly on Hollywood’s star chart, and will probably be drowning in offers from big movie studios.

And she’s no stranger to the superhero franchise; in 2007, she starred opposite Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3, playing Gwen Stacy (the role was then adopted by Emma Stone for the second round of movies).
With Spider-Man rejoining the Marvel family, it might be fun to see her back in the role, except with Peter Parker being a 14-year-old boy, somehow that seems unlikely.
Besides, why play a love interest when you can be a hero yourself?
In a Cinema Blend interview, Howard was asked whether she’d like to play Captain Marvel, and her response was very enthusiastic.
“Oh my God, will you write that? Will you write that please?” she asked. “Yes, let’s start a campaign now. That would be rad. Those movies are so fantastic, because talk about just these incredibly drawn characters! That’s the joy of the comics, is that you fall in love with these characters and it’s who they are that carries you from journey to journey to journey… it’s not just about set pieces. It’s really about who these people are, and so, yes, I just would love to be in a Marvel film.”

Captain Marvel will be Marvel’s first (and so far only) female-led superhero movie, and is set to premiere in 2017.
Although no director has been officially approached, there are rumors that the studio wants Angelina Jolie for the job.
There’s also Ava DuVernay, who has been tipped for a “diverse” Marvel movie — this could either mean Captain Marvel or the 2018 adaptation of Black Panther starring Chadwick Boseman.
