Speaking at a Comic-Con panel for his new movie Total Recall, the Emmy-winning actor admitted that he wants previous collaborator Nicolas Winding Refn to direct an episode of the upcoming season 5.
According to The Live Feed, Cranston admitted he would like the Bronson director to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood hot-shots Rian Johnson and David Slade to helm a future episode.
“He’d be great, yeah,” the actor told reporters in a round-table event. “He’d be terrific. He’s one of the most courageous directors I’ve seen.” The film buffs among you will remember that the Malcolm In The Middle star worked with Refn on Drive, which he described as an “extremely collaborative” process.
Given that Nicolas Winding Refn offered Bryan the role of feckless mechanic/entrepreneur based on the latter’s performance as Walter White in Breaking Bad, he would almost certainly be enthusiastic about the project. And with his current movie Only God Forgives currently in post-production and eyeing release, we could be seeing the director helm an episode in the second half of Heisenberg’s swansong series.
What do you think of Cranston’s suggestion?
