Captain Holt prepares to leave the precinct and Jake and Amy might make advances in their friendship, maybe, tonight on Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 finale, “Johnny and Dora.”
After a season of winding plot lines, it all culminates tonight on B99 season 2, episode 23. Last week, Wuntch was too nice and it turns out Holt had every reason to be suspicious. After she lets Jake use a helicopter in a case, and actually sounds proud of the work Holt accomplished, she laughs manically (or, she might as well have) and said she’s “promoting” Holt to the NYPD’s PR department. Say wha??
Holt, the man who speaks in a monotone voice and barely changes his facial expression, is not a public relations guy, and Wuntch knows that. She must have something more up her sleeve, but we probably won’t find out until the Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 3 premiere this fall.
Check out the synopsis for ‘Johnny and Dora’:
“Jake and Amy go undercover to catch Brooklyn’s most notorious identity thief, and the case brings them closer together – very close. Meanwhile, the entire precinct is caught off-guard when one of their own says goodbye to the Nine-Nine in the all-new ‘Johnny and Dora’ season Finale episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2, episode 23, airing tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on Fox.”
Meanwhile… Jake and Amy might finally find themselves forced to confront their feelings. Season 1 ended with Jake admitting he likes her “romantic-stylez” and it eventually comes out that she felt the same. But by then they were both dating other people. Then Amy and Teddy broke up. Then Jake and Sophia broke up. Then Jake commits to asking her out in season 2, episode 21, “Det. Dave Majors,” but she says she doesn’t want to date cops anymore.
And, in a dramatically ironic moment, we see Amy give her tell-tale “two-handed-hair-behind-the-ears” move as Jake turns his back. What will happen with these two tonight? We don’t know. But we can assume it will be the most progress Amy and Jake have made towards something more-than-friends. Stay tuned.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2, episode 23, “Johnny and Dora,” airs tonight at 8:30 pm ET on Fox.
