The week 5 Power of Veto competition has taken place! Here are the highlights from Big Brother season 17, episode 16!
1. Plans fall apart
After the Battle of the Block, Liz realizes that something is up. Clay and Becky are not happy to be up on the block when James was supposed to throw it. Austin goes to talk to Vanessa and she acts like she doesn’t know what’s going on. Shelli tells Vanessa not to say anything to Liz about backdooring Austin until after the Power of Veto competition.
2. Power of Veto competition
Vanessa, Clay, Becky, Shelli (Vanessa’s houseguest choice), John, and Liz are picked to play the veto competition. In order to win the Power of Veto, the players have to collect 250 nuts by rolling it up and down a ramp while dressed up as squirrels. Clay wins the Power of Veto.
3. Liz defends Austin
When Shelli and Vanessa tell Liz the news, they don’t get the reaction they’re expecting. She’s not upset at Austin. She believes he was trying to protect her and Julia but didn’t go about it in the right way. Liz reminds Vanessa and Shelli that Austin is a vote on their side in the alliance. Vanessa calls Austin up to the HoH room, and Austin says that he was just trying keep the twins safe. Austin manages to convince her that he’s the ally she needs.
4. Power of Veto ceremony
At the Power of Veto ceremony, Clay uses the veto to take himself off the block. Vanessa names Jason as the renomination. The plan is to target Jason in hopes that if the other side of the house comes after The Sixth Sense alliance, they won’t have their ring leader.
