Big Brother season 16, episode 10 just finished airing and the surprising winner of the Power of Veto has been revealed! Read our recap to find out what happened!
After the Battle of the Block, Nicole reappeared dressed in a frog costume. The rest of the house guests are delighted to learn she has to be a froggy for a week. Hayden looks forward to flirting with a frog. Derrick is ecstatic he’s still HoH and avoided the costume.
Jocasta isn’t doing so well after the competition. She was feeling sick before and being in the heat only made her feel worse. She can only manage to walk with Caleb’s help. Donny and Amber help set her up to rest in the fire room (with a bucket nearby).
In the yard Caleb confirms to Amber that he threw the competition. He makes it clear to her that he expects to be rewarded for his efforts. Amber is not impressed, especially since she did well on the competition on her own. Plus she never asked him to throw it.
Christine and Brittany want to give the frog a makeover. They’re sure that a bow and earrings will make it cuter. Hayden’s comment about being a prince and kissing the frog earns applause from the girls.
Back in the house Amber confides in Cody about her situation with Caleb. He says that he feels like Caleb will get mad at him for talking to her. She admits she’s not sure why he likes her and doesn’t want his affection. When Caleb walks by Cody gets worried. So when Caleb pulls him aside, Cody tells him that he’s not the type to flirt with another man’s girl. Of course he’s just saying that so Caleb doesn’t target him.
In the HoH room Derrick warns Caleb not to let anyone know he threw the competition. Cody comes in and Caleb leaves, giving Derrick a chance to question Cody. Cody straight up tells Derrick that if they can’t get Devin up for nomination that he wants Caleb evicted.
Team America starts their mission to spread the rumor about Zach being related to Amanda from season 15. Donny first targets Nicole and tells her Paola was the one who told him. He asks her to question Christine about it to see if she knows anything. Then Derrick tells Caleb the rumor and has him question Amber about it. To solidify the rumor they tell Zach, who then asks the rest of the house about it but doesn’t deny it. And so they’ve completed their first mission.
The house guests gather to pick the players for the POV competition, except for Jocasta, who is too sick to join. Derrick chooses first and pulls Christine, Caleb pulls Devin, and Derrick (choosing on behalf of Jocasta) pulls Donny. Derrick also picks Cody to host the competition.
Derrick tries to talk strategy with Donny. When he tells Donny about his plan to back door Devin, Donny says it’s the first time he’s hearing of it. And he’s not happy to be kept in the dark. So when Derrick wants to know his plans Donny decides not to reveal them.
At the Power of Veto competition the yard has been decked out like a casino. In Tumblin’ Dice, the players will challenge one another to a game. Both players will get inside the giant dice, then the wheel will be spun to pick a number. The players must leave and return to the platform with the correct number on their dice. The loser will be disqualified while the winner will go to play on. The last player standing wins POV.
Christine gets picked to go first and challenges Devin. Devin is the first to get to the number four and knocks Christine out of the challenge. Derrick goes next and challenges Devin. By just a few moments apart, Devin is the first to get to the number two and knocks out Derrick. Donny is up and chooses Devin as well. By some small miracle he beats Devin and knocks him out. Caleb is the last left and heads off against Donny. Donny manages to take out another strong player and wins the POV.
Back inside, Jocasta is overcome with tears when Donny tells her he won POV and she’s safe for the week. Brittany and Frankie are also emotional watching the scene. Cody’s striptease manages to cheer everyone up in the room. Meanwhile, Devin goes to the ice room to be alone and mourn his loss.
Donny calls the Power of Veto meeting and tells the house that he’s using his veto to save Jocasta from eviction. Although she knew it was happening, she’s again overcome with tears. Derrick continues on with his plan and names Devin as the replacement nomination. Caleb hopes that putting himself up for nomination wasn’t a mistake and that Devin gets evicted.
Were you surprised Donny won the Power of Veto on ‘Big Brother’?
