The Queen has arrived to The Lion King, as reports indicate that Beyoncé is currently in negotiations to star in Disney’s live-action film.
We already know that James Earl Jones (Mufasa) and Donald Glover (Simba) will be starring in Disney’s The Lion King live-action remake, and now another well-known voice is on its way to joining them.
According to Variety, Jon Favreau’s top choice for the role of Nala goes to Queen Bey herself.
However, negotiations are not complete, as the studio is waiting on the songtress’ decision. Variety notes that since she’s currently pregnant with her twins, she’s not rushing the decision.
However, she’ll just be voicing the role of Nala, since the film will feature heavy CGI as seen in The Jungle Book’s live-action remake, so it seems like it may be easier to fit the role into her schedule.
And speaking of schedules, the studio wants her so badly, they’re willing to adjust whatever they need to in order to accommodate her.
Beyoncé’s soft voice and sassy demeanor would be perfect for Nala, so here’s to hoping she’ll decide to join the cast.
