ZeniMax media, Bethesda’s parent company, have trademarked the word ‘Dawnguard.’ We can only speculate what Dawnguard will be used for, but our best guess is that it’s related to the first DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The trademark is for:
Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices.
Whilst Dawnguard could be related to the rumoured Elder Scrolls MMO, we think it’s more likely the name of Skyrim’s first DLC.
So, what could Dawnguard be related to? We know about the Mythic Dawn, a Daedra-worshipping secret cult from Oblivion, where they assassinated the emperor. Could Dawnguard involve protecting Skyrim from the return of the Mythic Dawn?
Alternatively, it might be related to the city of Dawnstar on Skyrim’s northern coast. We might see more content here, or Dawnguard might have to do with something completely new and different.
Do you think that Dawnguard is related to the DLC? What new content do you think we’ll see in Skyrim’s DLC? Speculate in the comments section below!
