Industry insiders all point to one day for The Avengers 2 release date in 2015.
MTV has revealed that they’ve spoken with “industry insiders” and all signs seem to point to May 1, 2015 for the release of The Avengers 2.
Why May 1, 2015? Well, MTV believes that considering the packed sequel slate that Marvel has set in place, they more than likely have already planned that far in advance.
MTV’s insider explains,
“In terms of the time frame, I think that it is well in the works. … It looks like the release date might be May 1, 2015, but that can change depending on people’s schedules. The beauty of ‘The Avengers’ is that you’ve got so many people in this that even during the shoot if someone has to do another film they can just focus on [other characters].”
With Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Thor: The Dark World release dates set in stone, it only makes sense that the Avengers sequel would be given a release date for the production to shoot for. Since Joss Whedon has signed on for the sequel and most likely has a plan already in mind for the film, the studio probably knows a lot more than it is willing to reveal to the public.
Although May 1, 2015 is quite a ways off, in terms of Marvel’s films, they already have most of the time slots in-between fairly locked up. So it’s not as crazy as it sounds to have a specific release date already in mind for what will undoubtedly be an enormously successful Avengers sequel.
