BBC’s new hit show Atlantis season 1, episode 2 airs tonight in the United Kingdom, and we’ll be introduced to Medusa along with even more Greek legends. Check out the preview for the episode as well as new stills.
Atlantis season 1, episode 2 “A Girl by Any Other Name” will revolve around Medusa this time, and we’re interested to see what direction the show will go with that legendary woman. Atlantis is set to explore Greek mythology and legends before they became legendary, and we’re excited to see how they play this one in particular.
The synopsis, which contains a spoiler about the previous episode, reads:
The fantasy drama continues, and despite the fame they have achieved from slaying the Minotaur, Jason and his friends Hercules and Pythagoras are still penniless and hungry. So when an old man asks them to find his missing daughter, it looks like things are on the up. There’s just one problem — the girl has been taken by the fanatical worshippers of the god Dionysys. The mission seems to be over before it has begun — but then Jason comes face to face with a stranger called Medusa.
We’re so excited to see Jason interact with Medusa and see his reaction when she introduces herself. If it’s anything like the pilot, it’s bound to be interesting!

BBC has also released a preview, which shows another instance of a drunken Hercules making a fool of himself.
In the clip above we see Jason waiting for Hercules so he can take over watch, or so we assume, and Jason briefly thinks that Hercules is an intruder and slams him to the ground. After realizing who it is, Jason also notices that Hercules is once again drunk, and he gives up and leaves while Hercules tells him he’ll be grateful for whatever they’re doing once they get the gold in their pockets.
We also have a bunch of stills from the episode, showing us Jason’s interactions with Medusa and Itheus.
