A Captain America and Justified alum will be playing Arrow‘s season 4 Big Bad.
Neal McDonough will join Arrow as a series regular in season 4 as Damien Darhk, Ra’s al Ghul’s ally-turned-nemesis.
Damien Darhk is being described as “a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra’s Al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow’s greatest challenges.”

Damien Darhk’s presence in the series was set up in the final episodes of Arrow season 3 when Ra’s al Ghul revealed his history with Damien to Oliver as a means of encouraging him to take out a rival for title of Ra’s al Ghul.
After being passed over for the title of Ra’s al Ghul, Damien fled the League with his followers and waters from the Lazarus Pit. Ra’s added, “Damien continues the League’s ways, but through his own organization filled with a hive of agents devoted to his own agenda.” He went on to list a number of events we saw play out in the series, stating they are all the work of Damien Darhk and his organization, who we assume to be H.I.V.E.
He was also in Starling City at the end of season 3, but by the time Oliver arrived to confront him, he had already fled and Oliver faced off against one of his lackeys.
