Felicity Smoak has long been an MVP on Arrow, but she particularly shone in this week’s episode. We look at our favorite Felicity moments from “The Fallen.”
Arrow season 3, episode 20, “The Fallen,” was an episode that will shape the course of the final episodes of the season. Oliver, Felicity, Diggle, and Malcolm took a dying Thea to Nanda Parbat, where Oliver agreed to become Heir to the Demon in exchange for use of the Lazarus Pit to revive his sister. In the process, Felicity and Oliver finally slept together, and after a failed attempt to smuggle Oliver out of the League’s headquarters, everyone said emotional farewells to Oliver, who officially took his place among the League as Al Sah-Him, Heir to the Demon.
Felicity, though, was particularly fierce. We look at our favorite Felicity moments from the episode.
Sleeping with Oliver
Source
Since Oliver declared his love for Felicity in the season 2 finale, Olicity has become a will-they-won’t-they dynamic with teases, such as a dinner date in the season 3 premiere. Oliver’s calling as a hero came between them, however, keeping the two star-crossed lovers apart. But with the possibility of never seeing each other again on the horizon, such concerns became meaningless. Felicity affirmed how Oliver has changed her life and told him she loved him, leading to a steamy hook up.
Besides the happiness of Olicity shippers, though, why is this a great Felicity moment? Because she instigated it. While the situation wasn’t ideal, with Oliver’s bargain coming due in the morning, the sex itself happened on her terms — only after she chose to approach Oliver privately. In a show that has struggled to give its female characters agency at times, this was nicely done.

Threatening Ra’s
Source
Let it be known that Felicity Smoak fears no one — okay, that might be exaggerating things, but she did barge in on perhaps the most dangerous man alive, Ra’s al Ghul, and threaten to go to war with him. Brave? Stupid? Either way, it definitely takes some guts to do what Felicity did, and Ra’s, for his part, showed his appreciation for Felicity’s fire.
Confronting Malcolm

After confronting the Demon’s Head, what’s Malcolm Merlyn to Felicity Smoak? She’s clearly done with him by this point, and she’s not afraid to snap orders at him. Malcolm reluctantly obeys; he clearly knows that crossing this “bitch with wifi” isn’t a good idea.
Taking out an assassin
Source
No, Felicity isn’t setting herself up to become the next masked vigilante of Starling City. But her determination to protect someone she loves pushes her to get the jump on a highly-trained assassin. Not too shabby, girl.
Sharing an intimate memory with Oliver
Source
On the jet to Nanda Parbat, Oliver shares a memory from his years away from home, a time that he barely speaks of with his loved ones. The extent of trust Oliver places in Felicity by sharing this memory and making himself vulnerable is not lost on Felicity, based on her expression. That Felicity made sure she would be on this journey is significant, as we see how important her support is for Oliver.
