Original story (January 25): Author Benjamin Alire Sàenz has announced on Twitter that he’s writing a sequel to his young adult novel Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.
Ari & Dante on the bestseller list in Mexico! In it's 8th printing & in 14 languages. I'm writing the sequel. Ari & Dante send amor.

The book has captivated readers since its original publication in 2012. Winning numerous accolades across the board and steadily increasing its reader base internationally.
But the likelihood of a sequel was never a sure thing. Which means news of this development will bring many readers a lot of surprise and joy.
Currently there is little clear cut information about the sequel itself. It looks as though an approximation of the title is Aristotle and Dante Send Amor (send love). However, this could also be a working title, Sàenz didn’t explicitly say.
A publication date hasn’t been mentioned, nor do we know the direction the book will take either. Though Sàenz has hinted pretty strongly (multiple times) that whatever the sequel consists of it will be told through Dante’s point of view.
@bfarr81 I am going to write a sequel. Not really a sequel but the story from Dante's POV

No matter how strongly the above tweet suggests that we’re definitely getting a retelling of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe through Dante’s eyes, you might want to hold off counting it as confirmation.
It’s important to note that this second tweet is from a couple of years ago, so we shouldn’t assume anything too strongly. Anything can happen during the development process.
Although the boys do share similarities, they are thoroughly different individuals. The two also spend quite a bit of time apart in the original novel as well. Therefore, if the sequel were to be a retelling told from Dante’s POV then there would be quite a lot of new material to mine — and certainly from a different angle.
That’s not to say a direct continuation from the book isn’t a possibility as well.
Although some resolution was found at the end of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, the two boys were just beginning their adventures into adulthood. Both had come to grips with certain aspects of their lives, but they also had parts of themselves left unsettled. It’s easy to imagine Dante picking up where Ari left off.
Then of course there’s also the possibility of a book from Dante’s POV starting mid way through Secrets of the Universe and continuing on from there.
