Anna Kendrick wants to be in a Marvel movie — and has already decided that Squirrel Girl is the superhero for her.
Okay, so, she probably won’t be Indiana Jones. But that’s fine, because Anna Kendrick’s brother is apparently also her publicist, and already has a tailor-made role for her in the MCU.
“My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should [play her],” Kendrick said in a recent Net-A-Porter interview. “I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”
Now, we’re obviously still waiting for Captain Marvel and that damned elusive Black Widow movie, but there’s absolutely no good reason Marvel couldn’t throw another female-led superhero movie on the slate.
Squirrel Girl would pair very well with Ant-Man, for example. (Squirrel Girl and the Wasp, anyone?)

In the comics, Squirrel Girl’s real name is Doreen Green. She’s a bonafide Iron Man fangirl, and originally becomes a superhero with the intent on becoming his partner-in-crime.
But after defeating Iron Man’s nemesis Doctor Doom, Iron Man turns her down and she joins Team Cap moves to New York to become
Central Park’s greatest protector.
A mutant, Squirrel Girl is a frequent ally of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and has also recently encountered Deadpool.
Here’s one fan’s enthusiastic rendering of what Anna Kendrick’s Squirrel Girl might look like:
