Paramount is bringing back its high-priced ticket concept first introduced with World War Z earlier this year for Anchorman 2.
The Anchorman 2 “SuperTicket” was announced this morning by AMC, Fandango, and the Will Ferrell-led comedy. “Ultimate fans will have the chance to see the film two days early at select AMC theaters with the purchase of an Anchorman 2 SuperTicket Premiere,” writes the studio in a brief statement.
You can register on the Anchorman 2 website to be notified of when the special tickets are released. According to the site, they go on sale November 26.
No other details were released about the SuperTicket – like if you’ll get any other goodies – but we suspect other benefits like food, drink, or merchandise will be added as World War Z did. A price wasn’t revealed either, but World War Z’s was $48 and included a small popcorn, an HD download of the film, a pair of World War Z 3D glasses, and a limited edition poster.
We believe demand for the SuperTicket will be much higher than it was for World War Z’s MegaTicket because the Anchorman franchise already has a built in audience who will be eager to see the film early.
Anchorman 2 arrives in theaters everywhere December 20. Last week the studio released the film’s one sheet which depicts the four leading newsmen towering over their New York City digs.
Does seeing ‘Anchorman 2’ early tempt you to purchase the ‘SuperTicket’?
Diehards like ourselves will surely be tempted by the opportunity to see the movie on December 18, but it’ll all come down to the price and any other benefits offered.
