With Sharon Osbourne leaving the show, America’s Got Talent has been searching for a new female judge. That lady appears to be Mel B, best known for her role in the Spice Girls.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Mel and the NBC talent competition are close to finalizing a deal.
She’ll join Howard Stern and Howie Mandel on this year’s judging panel. It’ll be Stern’s second year as judge and Mandel’s fourth.
America’s Got Talent season 8 will launch this summer. The judge’s panel will head out on the road to tape audition episodes next month in New Orleans, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Antonio.
Mel B was a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor as well as a guest judge on the British version, so she’ll be arriving with a little experience under her belt. She doesn’t exactly have the comedic chops that Stern and Mandel hold, but she’ll at least bring the looks and hopefully worthwhile critiquing of contestants.
Osbourne left America’s Got Talent after feuding with NBC over her son’s involvement with a separate television show. Following her departure, she appeared on Stern’s radio show on SiriusXM and talked a lot of smack on her now former bosses.
Do you think Mel B is a good choice for America’s Got Talent?
Thanks, EW.
