Check out this behind-the-scenes look at American Horror Story: Asylum featuring the cast and crew of the show.
Executive producer Dante DiLoreto states that this season is the sexiest, scariest, thrill ride he has ever seen. The show, he explains, is about something that you have to dig through the layers to get to the essence of what the story is. It’s also revealed that the story takes place at an insane asylum that was previously a tuberculosis ward in 1964.
Sarah Paulson believes that this season will be very different from the first. She says, “It’s going to be a different kind of horror, a psychological horror.” Lily Rabe agrees saying that it’s so deeply psychological and also questions what is sanity and what is insanity.
James Cromwell reveals that what interested him in the series is that he believes Ryan Murphy is using American Horror Story: Asylum to talks about contemporary social morals. Cromwell says, “If there’s another show like this I’ve never seen it.”
Evan Peters says that everything one could possibly be afraid of is thrown into this season. Instead of being the one torturing people, as he did in the first season, he is the one being tortured this time around. Adding, “And I have to say, I don’t like it. I do not like it one bit.”
Joseph Fiennes reveals in the fact that “it’s jammed packed with brilliant character motivations and crazy story lines. And I think everyone will be very excited to see the change from season 2.”
