FX has unveiled the first American Horror Story: Coven teaser trailer. It’s light on details but high on excitement.
In it, we hear a voice creepily singing a cover of the classic folk-turned-rock song “House of the Rising Sun” about life in New Orleans gone bad.
The first verse of the song is:
“There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I’m one”
On the walls in a white house we see bodies vertically mounted, and for a brief couple of moments you can see a white cat perusing the room. The teaser trailer is titled “Detention.” Watch below:
The cast and crew of American Horror Story season 3 spoke at the Television Critics Association over the weekend to discuss what’s to come in the third outing for the critically acclaimed miniseries. Actress Jessica Lange revealed that her character’s name is Fiona and confirmed she will play a witch. “I do play a witch. We move back and forth in time. It encompasses a lot of different stories. I’ve shot two days so far, one day entrances and exits, the other day a scene,” Lange said.
American Horror Story season 3 will star Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone, Emma Roberts, Denis O’Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge, and Lily Rabe.
American Horror Story: Coven premieres October 9 on FX.
