Amazon will be entering its first pilot season with seven pilots including hour-long shows Cocked, Mad Dogs, The Man in the High Castle and Point of Honor.
Amazon will start its first pilot season of 2015 early next year with seven pilots. Customers will be able to access them on Amazon Instant Video in the U.S., U.K., and Germany. The pilots touch a range of genres including war drama, satires, comedies, and book adaptations.
Amazon will also be premiering a docu-series based on The New Yorker. Customers will also be able to provide feedback on the shows that they want turned into full series.
Speaking about the lineup, Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios says, “Our first pilot season of 2015 brings some of the greatest storytellers in the business to Amazon customers with works of novelty and passion. We’re very excited by these shows and look forward to getting customers’ reactions next year.”

Cocked: Sam Trammell (True Blood)stars as Richard Paxson a family man and corporate lap dog that left his family in rural Virginia twenty years ago. He’s forced to return home and help his family’s gun business which is one of the oldest in the country. But his family isn’t so happy to have him back especially his brother Grady Paxson played by Jason Lee. And Richard’s wife and children definitely aren’t happy being in Virginia.
Down Dog: An hour-long dark comedy that follows the twisted reunion of a group of underachieving friends in their forties who are all at different crossroads in their lives. At the celebration of an early retirement of an old friend at his villa grudges arise and the trip becomes full of lies, deception, and murder! The friends realize that the only people they can trust are each other. The pilot stars Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club) as Cobi, Billy Zane (Twin Peaks) as Milo, Romany Malco (Weeds) as Gus, Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) as Lex, and Ben Chaplin (World without End) as Joel.
The Man in the High Castle: The drama is based on Philip K. Dick’s Hugo Award-winning 1962 alternative history. The series looks into what could have happened if the World War II Allied Powers had lost. Twenty years after the loss, the United States has been split between Japan and Germany. But the tension between Japan and Germany is growing and playing out in the states. The hour-long dramatic pilot stars Alexa Davalos (Mob City) as Juliana Crain, Luke Kleintank (Pretty Little Liars) as Joe Blake, Rupert Evans (The Village) as Frank Frink, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Mortal Kombat Legacy) as Tagomi, Joel De La Fuente (Hemlock Grove) as Inspector Kido, Rufus Sewell (Eleventh Hour) as John Smith and DJ Qualls (Z Nation) as Ed McCarthy.
The New Yorker Presents: Is a half hour docu-series that brings the magazine to life. The pilot features a short film based on a story by Simon Rich, a poem by Matthew Dickman, a documentary by Jonathan Demme, and an interview with performance artists Marina Abramović.
Point of Honor: Follows a Virginia family who decides to defend the South in the Civil War while freeing all of their slaves. They are led by their son, John Rhodes (Nathan Parsons), who leaves his three sisters at home to run the plantation. John will have to battle against his best friend and brother-in-law Robert Sumner (Christopher O’Shea). Point of Honor also stars Annabelle Stephenson (Revenge) as Kate Rhodes, Riley Voelkel (The Newsroom) as Lorelei Rhodes, Hanna Mangan Lawrence (Old School) as Estella Rhodes, Patrick Heusinger (Revolution) as Colonel Palmer Kane, Luke Benward (Ravenswood) as Garland Rhodes, Adrienne Warren (Black Box) as Abby, Lucien Laviscount (Waterloo Road) as Elijah, and James Harvey Ward (Low Winter Sun) as Cutler.
Salem Rogers: The half-hour comedy follows Salem Rogers (Leslie Bibb) who is a hard partying former supermodel. She’s forced to face her past and re-enter the real world after spending ten years in a rehab center. In an attempt to bring back her fame, Salem tracks down her former assistant Agatha (Rachel Dratch). Agatha also happens to have built a career as a self-help author. Salem Rogers also stars Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), Brad Morris (Playing House), Harry Hamlin (Mad Men), Toks Olagundoye (The Neighbors), Brad Morris (Cougar Town) and Scott Adsit (30 Rock).
