Twin Peaks season 3 has recruited Amanda Seyfried for a “mystery role.” Like that town needs more mysteries, are we right?!
Some hiccups along the way meant that the Twin Peaks revival almost didn’t happen. But it’s back on track at Showtime, with David Lynch at the helm.
The show is bringing back several characters from the iconic ’90s drama, but evidently there’s also room for fresh faces.
TV Line reports that Les Miserables star Amanda Seyfried has joined the cast for a multi-episode arc.
While no details of her character have been revealed, TV Line speculates that she’ll play the daughter of Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) and Annie (Heather Graham).
The resemblance is definitely uncanny!
The long-awaited Twin Peaks season 3, set more than 25 years after the original, focuses on the present-day adventures of Kyle MacLachlan as Dale Cooper.
All episodes are penned by original Twin Peaks creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, and Lynch is directing all nine plus episodes.
Amanda Seyfried started as a TV actress before moving into the movie industry. After starring on several soap operas (including All My Children), she landed the role of Lilly Kane in Veronica Mars.
Despite the character being dead before the show began, Lilly was one of the most memorable returning characters of the kooky drama.
Veronica Mars, and her subsequent show Big Love, helped Seyfried transition to the big screen, where she’s been crossing genres with widely different roles in movies like Mamma Mia!, Les Miserables, Gone, and Ted 2.
Twin Peaks season 3 is set to premiere in 2016.
