Alex Parrish and Ryan Booth have tons of history, and not all of it good. Their on and off relationship has us wondering: Are they a will they, won’t they couple? Or should they be a couple at all?
When season 1 began, it was clear that Agent Parrish and Agent Booth had chemistry. They have since embarked on this crazy on-again, off-again relationship that has definitely irked some fans.
It would be one thing if they were making progress toward trusting each other more fully, or working hard to figure out how to have a relationship in the type of atmosphere that comes with being active FBI agents. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have learned any sort of lesson from their on-again, off-again relationship throughout their time at Quantico.
Instead, they seem doomed to repeat their mistakes. When they are seeing eye to eye, Alex and Ryan can be a great team. When one of their many personal issues is involved, they tend to fight more viciously than cats and dogs.
We’ve seen them with other people in multiple timelines, and they clearly work well separately, as long as they aren’t pre-occupied with trying to out-agent the other.
Ultimately, Alex and Ryan seem to work well together, but can be even more efficient when working together but not as a unit. In the current present-day storyline, Alex is running around trying to get information about the terrorists holding a large delegation hostage. Ryan is managing the terror from inside. Both are working toward the same goal, but are not in direct contact.
So, what do you think? Are Alex and Ryan best when romantically entangled, when working together professionally, both, or neither? It’s a tough call. One thing is for sure: If Quantico wants us to cheer for them, we’re going to need to see Alex and Ryan work cohesively and quit bickering for longer than a few peaceful moments.
