Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion’s Indiegogo campaign for their Con Man web series hit its goal in record time. See the first teaser for the project here!
Firefly alums Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion are teaming up to create a web series, which they are asking for fans’ help to fund. Need a reason to donate? How about because it’s, in Tudyk’s own words, “the fastest way to get us back onto a spaceship.”
Written and created by Tudyk, Con Man casts himself and Fillion as actors, whose cult hit sci-fi series Spectre was cancelled before its time. Fillion’s character is now a superstar, while Tudyk’s character gets by attending conventions and signing pictures of himself.

Con Man will take fans behind the scenes of big conventions, showing us what it’s like when you’re an actor navigating through a sea of fanboys and — girls.
Their Indiegogo campaign launched two days ago, and reached its target in record time. Tudyk and Fillion are now shooting for the stars (badam-bam), hoping to get enough funds to finance a whole season. Plus, they gotta build a spaceship!
Haven’t donated yet? Check out the teaser video for the project, which proves just how awesome this is really gonna be:
The scene shows Tudyk’s character Wray entering an airport bathroom, and after a tense phone conversation, the man in the stall next to him recognizes his voice. The encounter is both hilarious and authentic – let’s face it, this would totally happen in real life – and if the web series is anything like this, it’s gonna be amazing.
Also, appreciate that production value. We totally get why these episodes are so expensive to make. It looks fantastic – and this is only a teaser!
