Everybody’s favorite traitorous jerk makes an emphatic return on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 14.
The episode, titled “Love in the Time of Hydra,” will also include the long-awaited debut of Edward James Olmos in the mysterious role of Robert Gonzales. The preview for tonight’s episode focuses on Gonzales’ apparent alliance with Mack and Bobbi.
The details of Gonzales’ identity remain a mystery, though last week’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. offered up a major clue when Mack revealed to a kidnapped Hunter that they worked for “the real S.H.I.E.L.D.” Meanwhile, May’s awesome, sexy, psychiatrist ex-husband was brought in to assess Skye, but the consultation ended with the discovery that Skye was turning her powers inward, causing major internal damage. And Skye’s dad got epically snatched by Gordon No-Eyes when he tried to lure Coulson back to his home town with a team of supervillains.
Also apparently a lot of high schoolers were murdered, and nobody noticed. It was weird.
Another weird thing is the vibe between Ward, who returns to our story in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 14, and Agent 33. In addition to, you know, everything else they’re doing in this clip.
In the next sneak peek from “Love in the Time of Hydra,” Fitz and Simmons argue again, but it’s less distressing as they are discussing the Avengers.
We didn’t even realize how badly we needed to hear Team Coulson arguing about the Avengers until now. Please guys, continue.
The still photos from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 14 suggest that, at the very least, Fitz and Simmons will continue arguing about something.
And the “Art of Evolution” for tonight’s episode, by artist Annie Wu, makes it clear that… well, everything is kind of unclear right now.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 14, “Love in the Time of Hydra,” airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
