New threats and old enemies come to the forefront in the preview and stills from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 18.
Beset by enemies, Team Coulson will search for a safe place when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 18 airs next week. The episode, titled “Providence,” will follow Agent Coulson and the loyal members of his team as they struggle to put their lives back together in the wake of last week’s monumental upheaval.
The preview for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 18 shows the team going underground – literally – and placing their trust in a new face.
That new face belongs to Agent Eric Koenig, played by Patton Oswalt. We can only hope that Team Coulson has good reason to trust that Koenig is a genuine S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and not part of the Hydra infestation revealed on last week’s episode.
The still photos from “Providence” give us a further peek at Agent Koenig, as well as hinting at what former agents Ward and Garrett will be up to in next week’s episode.
By the looks of it, it’s something evil and creepy.
The still photos reveal the reappearance of the Clairvoyant’s proxies, Ian Quinn and Raina – the latter once again clad in a trademark flowered dress. In addition to these established baddies, there are naked dead guys covered in boils (we have no idea what that’s about!), as well as a shot of Colonel Glenn Talbot, played by Heroes‘ Adrian Pasdar.
According to the official synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 18, Talbot will be instrumental in Team Coulson’s urgent hunt for safety – and not in a good way.
With Colonel Glenn Talbot now on their trail, Coulson and his team seek refuge in the last place anyone would look, where they begin to uncover S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most dangerous secrets – secrets that could destroy them all.
Fans should also note that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 18 will air at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, instead of its established 8:00 p.m. slot. ABC will rebroadcast last week’s shocking episode, “Turn, Turn, Turn,” at that time, followed immediately by “Providence.”
