A second Agent Carter season 2 preview has arrived, brimming with new footage and old accents.
The newest Agent Carter season 2 preview sets Peggy up as the matriarch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, laying the groundwork for the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. This makes a refreshing change from early advertising for the first season, which pumped the tagline, “Sometimes the best man for the job is a woman.”
As the new promo illustrates, the best person is usually just straight-up Peggy Carter. (Not that we didn’t know that already.)
Matriarch of the MCU she may be, but there’s nothing matronly about Agent Carter. The sunshine and spirit Los Angeles appears to suit her well, as Peggy whirls about in a fabulous wardrobe that in no way inhibits her ability to kick ass.
And it seems that her ass-kicking abilities will be in high demand in season 2. Though details on the season’s story are still under wraps, it’s clear that all is not well on the West Coast. “Los Angeles is going to Hell in a hand basket!” Peggy drawls in the Agent Carter season 2 preview, and she’s certainly acting, but she’s obviously right.

From the glimpse of some poor victim frozen in a block of ice, to the percolating mystery of Madam Masque, Los Angeles is obviously in need of someone to suss out its camera-dazzled secrets.
Luckily, Peggy is just the person for the job — even if, as the dreamy Dr. Wilkes wondered in the first preview, she has to punch everyone in L.A. to do it.
Agent Carter season 2 will premiere with a two-hour episode on Jan. 5. The second season will feature the return of Chad Michael Murray as Jack Thompson, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, and Bridget Reagan as Dottie Underwood. Wynn Everett joins the cast as actress Whitney Frost (a.k.a., Madam Masque) and Lotte Verbeek will play the heretofore unseen Ana Jarvis.
Agent Carter season 2 premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
