Adele’s 25 recently shattered first week sales records, selling over 3 million copies in its first week. Now, the concert special, which aired on NBC, became the highest rated concert special in over 10 years when Cher’s Farewell Tour brought in 16.5 million viewers on April 8, 2003.
Yesterday, Adele also announced an enormous North American Tour that will kick off in 2016 as well.
In the special, Adele mixes up some of her biggest hits as well as new songs from her latest album, 25. Songs like Hello, Skyfall, Set Fire to the Rain and All I Ask forced the crowd at Radio City Music Hall to their feet in applause and excitement.
The concert, which was filmed in November before 25 was released, marked Adele’s first performance in years. And despite her hiatus, the legend picked up right where she left off and absolutely nailed the performances.
