We’ve heard a lot about what the cast of the show would like to see for the 50th anniversary series of Doctor Who, but what about the fans? Well, I’m curious as to what everyone else wants to see, and I’ve come up with a few ideas myself.
1) Chameleon Circuit plays the opening theme for at least one episode and/or plays one song (similar to ‘Doomsday’ or ‘Love Don’t Roam’). If you don’t know who Chameleon Circuit is yet… you should.
2) The TARDIS gets a sat-nav. Come on, for just one episode. Just to see Eleven get really annoyed.
3) Bring back Eight! I know everyone is talking about bringing back Ten and Nine, but I really feel sorry for Eight. He only got one ‘episode’.
4) Peter Davison had an interesting idea – the older doctors, who are now too old to make sense on the show – could be present in a sort of cartoon form. That’s a good idea, I think. Maybe like The Infinite Quest, but preferably have them actually put into a cartoon-like universe, with cartoon physics and everything. That would just be so much fun.
5) A MUSICAL! Please! That would be so awesome! Murray Gold has the talent to write good songs, and the cast seem to have the wills to sing (judging by confidential)… plus, I wouldn’t mind hearing a gangster rap about just why bowties are cooler than other accessories.
6) A crossover episode with another show. It doesn’t have to be canon, but it would be so funny… like the crossover with EastEnders they had for the 30th anniversary. Who says Muppets?
7) Have the Doctor meet his next regeneration before he regenerates. Have ‘the twelve doctors’ or something. We always see it from the perspective of a Doctor looking back… why can’t we see it looking forward? We don’t have to be told who the person is, but I’d imagine he’d annoy the hell out of Eleven.
8) Don’t kill Amy and Rory. Have the heartbreaking departure, but don’t kill them. Especially not Rory.
So those are my ideas/wants. What about yours?
