Commenting on the reaction to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, Mark Hamill expresses optimism and high hopes for Episode VII.
IGN caught up with Mark Hamill recently, and of course the topic turned to Star Wars.
Hamill’s children have showed him some of the reaction videos from fans to the first trailer, and Hamill confesses that, “To see those people that thrilled, it was moving to me. I actually got a lump in my throat watching that.”

We know that Hamill will be reprising his role as Luke Skywalker in J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens. Naturally everyone wants to know more, so, “I’m practicing my phrase, ‘You have to wait and see,'” Hamill says. “They asked me not to talk about it and I agreed, but it’s hard. People want to know!”
And because people want to know, of course, there is a big possibility that the plot and script may be leaked ahead of the movie’s 2015 premiere. In fact, rumour has it that the plot is already online (we wouldn’t click that link, but that’s just us).
“I just don’t understand the motivation for people wanting to ruin it for people, but that’s the world we’re living in,” Hamill reflects. “I’ll be surprised if they don’t leak the whole script between now and next year. But I hope not!”
Where previously the actor has admitted to feeling “cautious” about the new films, now he seems totally on board, having nothing but praise for the new cast members.
“I felt that the minute I met all of them. They’re all wonderful actors,” Hamill says. “I think they’ve done such a great job of not only the characters themselves, but the people they’ve picked to play them. John Boyega is just wonderful and Daisy [Ridley] I just think the world of, and Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac and Andy Serkis.”
He concludes that The Force Awakens is, “in very, very good hands. I’m vicariously very proud of them even though I have no justification for being able to be proud!”
