Last night Cameron Diaz returned to Studio 8H to host SNL alongside musical guests Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson.
The episode opened with a musical number spoofing Schoolhouse Rock which surrounded this week’s controversial immigration reform in which President Barack Obama used an Executive Order. This sketch included Jay Pharoah’s spot-on impression of Barack Obama.
Cameron Diaz returned to host SNL for the third time in her career and opened with a Q&A session with people in the audience. As usual, these questions are bizarre.
Yr Girls, an all girl group which features all of the female SNL cast members and lead by Aidy Bryant as Lil Baby Aidy, released their latest music video “Back Home Ballers,” which is all about coming home for Thanksgiving and being treated like royalty. Check out the hilarious video below:
Diaz was featured in an Annie sketch which included a “modern twist” on the classic musical. In this sketch, newcomer Leslie Jones plays a Haitian version of Annie who is quite a bit different from the traditional character.
In another sketch, some of the cast got together to spoof high school acting students who are trying to teach lessons but don’t really seem to have any idea what they are talking about:
In another sketch, Kenan Thompson plays an animal show host who is recently recovering from a rather terrifying and embarrassing incident in the previous episode. This cute sketch includes a monkey and a lemur too!
Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars performed two very energetic songs during last night’s show as well. Check them out below:
SNL takes this week off for the Thanksgiving holiday but returns on December 6, with James Franco hosting and musical guest Nicki Minaj.
