Here’s a new look at Bobbi Morse, and plans for the character’s future on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – and beyond!
Last night’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced the fabulous Bobbi Morse to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now that the super-spy’s days of working undercover at HYDRA are over, the show has cooked up a new look for Agent Morse – sorry, Bobbi – which actress Adrianne Palicki will debut in next week’s episode, “A Fractured House.”
But Marvel has offered up an early look at the character’s rapid transformation, just in time to satisfy the fan-people who prefer their Bobbis blonde.
Blonde hair? Check. Arm batons? Check. Uncomfortable-looking underboob strap? Check!
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. costume designer Ann Foley shared her thoughts on developing Bobbi’s new appearance, noting that she had tried to fit in elements of the character’s comic book costume.
“It’s important to me to keep certain elements,” Foley said, thought certain details had to be changed. The costume “had to fit into our world. It had to have a kind of tactical feeling to it too so that it made sense in our universe.”
Marvel hasn’t specified just how much of Bobbi’s new look fans will be seeing on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. But in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Adrianne Palicki asserted that, though her exact number of appearances is “up in the air,” her character “is part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team… a part of that world.”

Being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe opens up multiple possibilities for Palicki, who describes herself as “a huge comic book fan.” According to the actress, there is “absolutely” a possibility that she could reprise her role as Morse on the big screen.
“Crossovers have happened multiple times,” she allowed. “I hope there is that potential for the character. Anything is possible in that world, which is wonderful.”
As far as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. goes, Palicki emphasized Bobbi’s ability to use “her sexuality and her confidence to get whatever it is she wants.” Her relationships will also receive more focus in the future, specifically with ex-husband Lance Hunter.
“There’s going to be a fun dynamic,” Palicki teased. “It adds a little bit of levity and comedy to some very intense situations down the line.”
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episode 6, “A Fractured House,” will air on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
