Good news for Selfie fans: despite the show’s rating troubles, ABC has extended its first season with three episodes.
Selfie hasn’t been off to a good start. At least not if you’re only looking at the numbers. While the show has been steadily improving in terms of quality over the last three weeks, its ratings have continued to fall, leading fans to assume that it will be cancelled.

But while ABC has not yet picked up the show for a full season, Deadline reports that three additional scripts have been commissioned for Selfie, Manhattan Love Story and Forever.
The more successful Black-ish and How to Get Away With Murder were both picked up for full seasons last week. ABC is still hesitant about their three ratings-challenged new shows, but this is a good sign – they haven’t yet given up completely!
This gives the network a few more weeks to make their decision. At this point, it’s likely that one or more of its new series will get the axe, but will Selfie be one of them? We’re staying cautiously optimistic.
Will you be upset if Selfie is cancelled? Or would you prefer to keep Forever and/or Manhattan Love Story on the air?
Selfie returns next Tuesday with season 1, episode 4 “Nugget of Wisdom.” The episode is written by series creator Emily Kapnek.
