The Amazing Race season 25, episode 2, “When You Gotta Go, You Gotta Go,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
Misti and Jim are the first team to depart for London, England. There, they must go to the Tower Bridge. Although they’re the first team at the airport, nothing is open yet. The rest of the teams tried to catch up to make the first flight, which would only accommodate six teams.
The teams to make the first flight are Misti and Jim, Kym and Alli, Timothy and Tee Jay, Brooke and Robbi, Maya and Amy, and Beth and Adam.
The teams on the second flight are Dennis and Isabelle, Whitney and Keith, Michael and Scott, and Shelley and Nici.
Once off their flights, the teams hopped into taxis and raced to the bridge. There they found the next clue that sent them to a detour. They can either choose to preform a traditional changing of a guard or take part in a pancake race.
The teams that chose the “About Face” guard challenge are Misti and Jim, Timothy and Tee Jay, Kym and Alli, Brooke and Robbi, Maya and Amy, and Shelley and Nici.
The teams that chose the “Pancake Race” are Beth and Adam, Dennis and Isabelle, Whitney and Keith, and Scott and Michael.
Only Beth and Adam from the first flight chose the pancake race. But as the other teams struggle to learn the guard routine, Beth and Adam finish the race in one try. The clue tells them to head to Oxford.
On their second attempt, Misti and Jim finish the guard challenge and head off to Oxford. Kym and Alli finish next, then Timothy and Tee Jay after some struggling, then Amy and Maya, and Shelley and Nici.
Brooke starts to panic when she realizes that her and Robbi are the last team there. It takes them many more attempts before they successfully complete the detour. They probably could have finished the challenge a lot quicker if Brooke hadn’t been so focused on what the other teams were doing.
At the pancake race, Whitney and Keith finish, and then Dennis and Isabelle. Michael and Scott finish after their fourth attempt on the pancake race. It doesn’t look like they’ll be wanting any pancakes for breakfast.
In Oxford Beth and Adam get the next challenge, “Drop Back and Punt,” where one team member must propel the punt boat one lap with the team around the water channel. They also have to be sure to stand on the proper ends of the punt boat. Beth and Adam complete the lap easily and get their next clue to Christ Church College.
When they get the next clue, Beth and Adam decide to take a chance and go for the express pass. At the Bear Inn they find the express pass. It tells them to head to the pit stop where Winston Churchill was born, Blenheim Palace.
Both Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli make a lap before realizing they were on the wrong ends of the punt boat. That means they have re-do the lap over again. When everyone catches up to the punt challenge, steering without crashing into one another becomes a challenge. Although annoying to the teams, it’s amusing for us to watch.
Misti and Jim and Kym and Alli still manage to finish the punting challenge ahead of the other teams. This puts them in second and third place, respectively. Meanwhile, the rest of the teams struggle not to fall in the water. And Nici deals with a full bladder by squatting in the water.
Dennis and Isabelle end up being the last teams left along with Nici and Shelley. This wears down on both teams, who start to panic and struggle against the water currents.
With no surprise to anyone, Beth and Adam complete the second leg in first place, which wins them a trip to Sweden.
The remaining teams comes in the following places:
2nd place: Misti and Jim
3rd place: Kym and Alli
4th place: Keith and Whitney
5th place: Tee Jay and Timothy
6th place: Scott and Michael
7th place: Brooke and Robbi
8th place: Amy and Maya
9th place: Nici and Shelley
Last place: Dennis and Isabelle
As the team in last place, Dennis and Isabelle are eliminated from the The Amazing Race.
