ABC has released the synopsis for Scandal season 4, episode 2, and a few guest stars have important-looking roles.
Portia De Rossi (Arrested Development), Mary McCormack (In Plain Sight), and Josh Randall (Ed) will make their debut on Scandal during season 4, episode 2, airing October 2.
While De Rossi’s role is still under wraps, we now know that McCormack and Randall will play a “power couple” who appear at Fitz’s State of the Union Address. As you may know, the President of the United States typically brings in “regular” Americans to demonstrate a point he wants to make in his speech to the nation.
The synopsis for Scandal season 4, episode 2, titled “The State of the Union,” reads, “In order for Fitz to make the biggest impact with his State of the Union address on gun control, Cyrus sets out to recruit a power couple (Mary McCormick and Josh Randall) who are influential on the issue. Meanwhile, Mellie’s personal struggle gets national attention.”
In addition, ABC has released three stills from the episode which depict Randall and McCormack in their “power couple” roles. McCormack’s character is confined to a wheel chair:
