Glee alum Nolan Funk has been cast in a guest spot in Arrow season 3.
Funk, who recently played Dalton Academy Warbler captain Hunter Clarington on Glee, has been tapped to play Felicity’s hacker boyfriend from MIT, reports THR.
Funk’s character will be named Cooper Seldon and will appear in episode 5, “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.” This episode is also set to feature Charlotte Ross as Felicity’s mother.
Funk is the second Warbler to appear on Arrow; Grant Gustin, who appeared as Barry Allen in two episodes before moving to his own spinoff in The Flash, played the devious Sebastian Smythe on Glee as well. The two appeared together in several episodes.
Emily Bett Rickards first teased the news on Twitter earlier today after posting on social media:
I'm so sorry @nolanfunk http://t.co/zvteVPoq1L

Besides Glee, Funk’s other roles include Awkward, Riddick, House at the End of the Street, and Warehouse 13.
Funk joins recent casting additions that include Rila Fukushima replacing Devon Aoki (Katana), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), David Cubitt (Manhunter), Matt Ward (Komodo), J.R. Ramirez (Wildcat), Karl Yuna (Maseo Yamashiro) and Peter Stormare (Vertigo).
Prior to the start of the season, we have learned that not only would season 3 further develop the Oliver/Felicity romance that was teased in the season 2 finale, but legendary DC Comics villain Ra’s al Ghul would be the villain of the season.
Arrow season 3 premieres Wednesday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
