Casting continues for The Flash, which has now tapped a Star-Crossed alum to play the villainous Girder.
Greg Finley is set to join the freshman superhero series as Tony Woodward, aka Girder, for two episodes, reports Zap2It.
As a result of the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator malfunction, Tony discovers the ability to transform his skin into living metal. Using these new powers and taking on the moniker of Girder, Tony goes on a crime spree that The Flash must stop.
Tony, it turns out, is also the bully who used to torment Barry Allen when they were kids, giving the storyline a more personal angle.
Tony will appear in episodes 6 and 7 of The Flash.
Interestingly, we recently learned that Arrow‘s William Tockman, aka Clock King (Robert Knepper), would appear in episode 7 of The Flash, with executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teasing, “We wanted to give Barry a real challenge… two bad guys!”
So when Kreisberg says Barry will be “fighting both a new enemy and one of our scariest and most successful Arrow villains in The Clock King,” it looks like that new enemy will be Girder.
Besides Star-Crossed, Finley was a regular on The Secret Life of the American Teenager and has appeared on Law & Order: SVU, Necessary Roughness, and Emily Owens, MD.
Finley joins a growing cast on the Arrow spinoff, whose recent additions include Clancy Brown (General Wade Eiling), Kelly Frye (Plastique), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), and Robbie Amell (Ronnie Raymond).
The Flash stars Grant Gustin (Barry Allen), Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Candice Patton (Iris West), Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon), Rick Cosnett (Eddie Thawne), and John Wesley Shipp (Henry Allen).
The Flash premieres Tuesday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
