Supernatural executive producer Jeremy Carver previews two returning law enforcement officers to season 10.
Fan favorite Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) and Sheriff Donna Hanscum (Brianna Buckmaster), from season 9’s “The Purge,” will be returning to Supernatural in season 10, Carver tells TVLine.
Jody Mills first appeared in season 5’s “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid” when Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was overrun by the dead as a result of the Apocalypse. She has since appeared in season 6’s “Weekend at Bobby’s”; season 7’s “Hello, Cruel World,” “Slash Fiction,” and “Time After Time”; season 8’s “Sacrifice”; and season 9’s “Rock and a Hard Place” and “Alex Annie Alexis Ann.”
In her latest episode, Jody took in a traumatized victim of vampire kidnapping to help her recover. Could we see both women in an upcoming episode?
Donna Hanscum, meanwhile, nearly became the victim of a pishtaco, a Peruvian fat sucker, at a health spa. However, the Winchesters stopped the murders before that could happen.
This news comes on the heels of Carver answering a question about female characters in season 10 at SDCC: “You can expect a very healthy dose of new and returning very strong, very powerful female characters this season.”
And speaking of returning characters, Carver teased of the upcoming 200th “musical-ish” episode that “just about every character — I’ll say they will be represented — that you’ve ever loved or hated on the show, and I say that very obliquely on purpose. So they will be there in spirit.”
Carver adds, “[W]e’ll see one other character that we introduced a couple seasons ago who I don’t want to spoil just yet.”
We know that the 200th episode will feature a haunting at a stage adaptation of Chuck Shurley’s Supernatural books, which leaves the door open to a number of relevant characters.
Supernatural season 10 premieres Tuesday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
