The first full trailer for Doctor Who series 8 has been released online!
After weeks of teasers, promotional stills, and hype-increasing hyperbole, the BBC have finally released the first full trailer for Doctor Who‘s eighth series – which will star new Doctor Peter Capaldi alongside returning companion Jenna-Louise Coleman and newcomer Samuel Anderson.

The trailer debuted on BBC One in the UK earlier this evening, during the broadcaster’s coverage of the World Cup final.
Doctor Who fans have a nervous wait until the series premiere after the first five scripts of the series were accidentally leaked on line by a BBC Worldwide office, closely followed by a rough cut of first two episodes. The leaks prompted the show’s fans and creative team to launch a no spoiler campaign, using the hashtag #keepmespoilerfree.
Doctor Who returns to the world’s screens on Saturday, August 23. The opening episode, entitled “Deep Breath” was written by show runner Steven Moffat and directed by Sightseer and The Kill List‘s Ben Wheately (his first time behind the camera for the show). Series 8 will then continue for an uninterrupted run of 12 episodes – the first time this has happened since 2010’s series 5.
Future guest stars include comedians Frank Skinner and Ben Miller, as well as Ashes to Ashes star Keeley Hawes, Game of Thrones‘s Roger Ashton-Griffiths, and singer Foxes. Writers for the new series include Sherlock‘s Mark Gatiss and Steve Thompson, Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel scribe Jamie Mathieson and children’s author Frank Cottrell Boyce.
